“Wouldn’t people make fun of you because of me?” Mom cupped my cheek and I let her.

“It’ll handle it. Now go Heath.” I was so damn tempted.

“Let’s go back to the party mom.” I stepped away and walked out of the room.

Taking out my phone I checked it to see if anyone had texted me, but much to my dismay no one had. It was all clear.

With a heavy sigh I went back to the living room and took a glass of champagne and drowned it. I needed alcohol to get me through the night.

So many things would change after tonight. Hope and I would officially be over and there would a hole in me forever. Of course I could break off the engagement but it would be awful for Laine. I hated the girl but I didn’t want her to go through the disgrace of that anomaly. Now that I was really thinking, my heart sank deeper in my chest and I looked around for a way out, but Laine appeared in front of me.
