The mansion was gigantic for two people. I had no idea how my parents wandered here with no one around. It looked lonely and too quiet. Even when I roamed the hallways and tried to stay away from going downstairs.

As I had a half an hour to kill, I examined the rooms, each one more beautiful than the other. I had seen luxury. Plenty of it. But this was different. Shiny marble floors, intricate-designed ceilings, and colossal chandeliers that shed so much light. I was in awe of this place but it wasn’t any different than the mansion back in town. Quiet and lonely like a graveyard.

“Son,” I bit my lip to not groan at the sound of my father.

“You came.” I was standing in a guest room.

“I didn’t come for you.” I replied.

“Of course.” Xavier Travon came around and stood in front of me wearing an ironed onyx suit that hugged his lean figure.

“Leave me alone. I’m not in the mood.” I looked away hoping he’d slid away.
